Title: Heartbeat
Rating: G
Summary: Heartbreak.
Notes: I have no idea who these people are.
She leaves the party on wobbling heels, stops on the front porch to stare up at the sky. They're far enough out in the mountains that she can see the stars, a handful of sugar on a black marble counter. She used to draw faces in the spilled sugar, and he would laugh.
He doesn't love her anymore. He didn't say as much, but she can tell. He doesn't smile at her the way he used to.
The party behind her is a white noise blur of laughter and music. She can hear her own heartbeat more clearly than them.
