Summary: Charlotte's making dulce de leche.
Notes: Memefill for SWL, Charlotte/Daniel - the cake has fallen. It didn't fall exactly, but it's still pretty inedible...
The kitchen smelled delicious, like chocolate and cinnamon and milk, and Charlotte was just straightening up, closing the oven. Daniel grinned, stepped forward, and wrapped his arms around her middle. "Dulce de leche? You must be feeling better."
"Mmhmm." She turned her head to kiss him. "It's cake, even. I'm not sick."
"Obviously not." Benjy would be really happy about the cake—whenever he got home, which he should be already. "Where's Benjy?"
"At a friend's," she said, absently. "I don't think you understand me, Daniel. I'm not sick. I never was sick."
He frowned, and let go of her, turned her to face him and put his hands on her shoulders. "You were throwing up all the time. If that’s not sick, I don't know what—"
The penny dropped, and so did his hands.
Whatever his face was doing, it clearly was enough for Charlotte. She beamed at him, took his hands, and squeezed. "Yes. I'm pregnant."
He kissed her, hard.

The cake burned. But that was okay.
