something of yourself
Oct. 11th, 2012 10:02 pmTitle: something of yourself
Rating: PG.
Summary: The blonde announcer pats her hair and assumes a properly somber look.
Warnings: character death.
Notes: Follows Blur. Up until I wrote this, I didn't know if Miranda survived or not.
The announcer pats her hair, picks up her microphone and assumes a properly somber look, as the cameraman rolls tape.
They were all with her at the end, standing or sitting around her bed: when the montiers flatlined, no one moved.
"Miranda Hennessy died this morning in a Los Angeles hospital after being attacked yesterday by an unknown assailant."
The crash cart chases them out, but they all know what's happened-- they all knew it was coming.
"Police are requesting that anyone present at the attack come forward for interviews."
Peter, who hasn't slept or left the television since he heard, slumps onto his desk and moans, soft and low.
"The Hennessy family has not yet issued a statement, but we expect one later today."
Jack cries without sound, shaking on Felix's shoulder; Charlotte is dry-eyed and empty, numb.
"The firm has asked that the family's privacy be respected during this difficult time, and that concerns can be addressed to your local police station."
Isobel's hands are white-knuckled in Christopher's, white as her face, and for the first time he thinks he understands what his father felt when Tommy died.
"We will bring you further information as this story develops."
The sky is blue and brassy and hot, and Miranda is dead.
Rating: PG.
