Title: Nice
Rating: PG.
Summary: Miranda gives nice a shot.
Warnings: none
Notes: Trying to close out Zing by Sunday for SINTE reasons. Let's see if I can do it.
"You might try being nicer, Miranda," her father says, reproachfully; she looks down, a little embarrassed.
When one of her lawyers is late with an assignment, she smiles—he flinches like her face cracked—and tells him to get it in when he can.
She's nice to the next excuse too, and the one after that, but the third one starts to irritate her, and the ones after that just piss her off.
She's kicking the shit out of a punching bag when Jack finds her, and raises an eyebrow.
"Nice," he repeats, and laughs, then adds, "Oh, Andy, you're not nice at all."
The next late assignment with accompanying fake excuse gets a lecture, cool and quiet, on the necessity of punctuality to maintaining employment.
She leaves the nice to Charlotte, these days.
